Mike Brown is a professional basketball coach who is currently the lead assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on March 5, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio, Brown played college basketball at the University of San Diego before pursuing a career in coaching.
Brown began his coaching career in 1992 as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets. He went on to serve as an assistant coach for a number of NBA teams, including the Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
In 2005, Brown was named the head coach of the Cavaliers. He led the team to the NBA Finals in 2007 and was named the NBA Coach of the Year in 2009. Brown was fired by the Cavaliers in 2010 and went on to coach the Los Angeles Lakers for one season in 2011-12.
Since then, Brown has served as an assistant coach for a number of NBA teams, including the Warriors, where he has been a member of the coaching staff since 2016. He is known for his defensive coaching expertise and his ability to develop young players.
