De'Aaron Fox's Heroics Lead Sacramento Kings to Victory Over Chicago Bulls
Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk wasn't surprised. Head coach of the Kings, Mike Brown, was also aware he would share in the spotlight. When all-star guard De'Aaron Fox soared over Ayo Dosunmu for the game-winning three-pointer on Wednesday night, one could likely hear Chicago Bulls fans inside the United Center shouting the angry word "No!" as they had seen this movie before.
With four seconds left and the game tied at 114, Fox drained a three-pointer to lift Sacramento to its 41st win of the season, clinching a record of .500 or better for the first time since 2006.
The win took some effort to come back from being down 16 points in the first half, but Fox's late-game heroics - which also included a mid-range jumper that looked like it would ice the Kings' game - were the highlight of the evening. When the Bulls held the score in the final seconds with some clutch moments of their own, Sacramento needed to call on the King of the Clutch once again, and he delivered.
